SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW
Today was one of my favorite days...because of the weather! I am speechless and am so reminded of God's goodness through changes...the weather is such a good example of our lives. This morning I woke up and it was sunny, I knew it was going to be warm. I walked outside and the sun felt so inviting against my face. The grass had just been cut and so it reminded me of summer and being outside when I was a little girl. I was never a girl who played inside, rather would be climbing trees, making mud pies, riding my bike on the jumps, and finding pretty flowers which were actually weeds. I remember pretending I would have to survive by my own and that it was only me and my sister. Such fun, precious, innocent memories. Not a worry in the world...
Anyway about this amazing weather today. So a big groups of my friends at college went over to the park and played softball. I had so much fun...got out there with my mitt and yelled for joy about how much I love days like this. Sometimes I have so much excitement that I can't keep it in... I got to shout it out and thank God. I hurt my foot while playing, a ground ball came right to me and hit my foot dead on, so I am icing it now. But hey, got to show some pain for some gain...not complaining. It was amazing playing with my friends, these are the days I will always remember...the days of friendship.
Later that day was a track meet and we headed over to watch our college team run. During the events it started to pour, most of the fans left. I stayed, I could handle some rain, plus I wanted to cheer my friends who were running in their races. As we left the sun bursted forth and instantly a rainbow appeared!! There were two of them...it was such a gorgeous sight. I am so reminded of God's promise and His love... I am so overwhelmed.
So the reason I loved today was the changes in the weather and how it reflects the changes in our lives. At times it may be sunny and warm then turn to dark and rainy. But the most incredible part is that it must first be dark and rainy before any beauty can be seen. The rainbow today was so inspirational and refreshing... I love God and his blessings that let us reflect his infinite creativity and wisdom. - Liisa Noel
