The Little Girl Inside of Me...
Do you ever have times where you retreat to your childhood? Just the other day I woke up and sat on the couch and turned on the tv. Nothing was on except Mister Roger's Neighborhood. I sat and I watched it like I did when I was a little girl. I remember this one time on Mr. Roger's were I learned how to twirl a baton.
Then a couple weeks ago, my friends and I all got together. Alaina, one of my friends was late and when I saw her coming down Kelli's long drive way I told everyone else that we should hide from her, like we did when we were little for fun. When the timing was right we ran outside as fast as we could in our flipflops. As I was running I felt like I went back 10yrs. The smell of the air, the breeze in my face, and the laughter of my best friends around me as we stupidly thought our friend would never find us. We stopped and all of us started talking about our past memories and the silly things we did, we laughed until our stomachs hurt. We then decided to find our friend and go back...back into a world where we were much older, where we had jobs, responsilbilites and futures for our lives. I will never forget that moment in time, I felt like the little girl running towards her Savior, like the song from Jars of Clay. A big open field, and me as a little girl, with dirty blonde hair, wearing a sun dress and wildflowers in my hand...running with no cares or worries in life toward my Jesus whom I fall in love with, whose arms I fall into. All my life I will always be a little girl inside wanting to run toward my Savior...
